DEO urges voters to exercise franchise freely

Kangpokpi, February 25 2022:
District Election Officer (DEO)/DC Kangpokpi has appealed to every eligible person in the district to exercise their franchise freely on February 28 at their respective polling stations from 7am till 4pm.In tune with the theme of Election Commission of India's Making elections inclusive, accessible and participative', DEO/DC Kangpokpi informed that voting by Persons with Disabilities and elderly people above 80 years of age who have applied for postal ballot facility have exercised their voting rights on February 22 and 23 in all three assembly constituencies of Kangpokpi district.
The DEO also appealed to all electors in Kangpokpi to refrain from taking any bribe and ring up the toll-free number 1950 of the Complaint Monitoring Cell set up for receiving the complaints or 6033904313, 6033904314, 6033904292 or use the Election Corrimission's c-VIGIL app to file complaint of model code of conduct violations in case anybody offers bribe or threatens electors.
Meanwhile, following in struction of CEO Manipur to make all electoral booths tobacco free zone, the DEO has evoked Section 4 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 COPTA 2003) prohibiting smoking in public places and advised SP (Kangpokpi) to take necessary action against the violators by imposing fines and penalties.
The DEO also informed that polling personnel will be despatched to their respective polling stations on February 27 morning.
