Seeds distributed
As part of its year-long programme, Indian Youth Congress (IYC) of Langthabal A/C distributed winter-sown seeds from Horticulture Dept to the farmers of Narankonjin and adjoining areas from December 4 to 6, according to a statement issued by the general secretary of IYC.
Political parties meeting
In connection with the forthcoming election to 18 Municipal Councils and eight Nagar Panchayats, the State Election Commission has convened a meeting of all political parties tomorrow.
State Election Commission Secretary Radharani Mutum would preside the meeting which would be held in her office chamber at 1 pm, informed a source.
Schedule of the election and enforcement of election model of code of conduct would be announced after the meeting.
COTA appeals
Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has appealed to the State Government to extend the last date of receiving suggestions for framing of the new education policy by at least 10 days.
COTA asserted that there was no proper notification in this regard by the concerned authority and people are ignorant of it, according to a press release issued by the co-convenors of COTA.
Blood donation camp
Life Savers Manipur (LISAM), Wangkhei Lourembam Leikai, Imphal East in association with Lions Club of Greater Imphal is organising the 12th voluntary blood donation camp 2015 in relation with the Nupi Lan day on December 12 from 10 am to 1 pm at Dept of Immunohematology, RIMS, according to a press release issued by managing director of LISAM.
Lup flays
Pheijaleitong Makha Maibi Lampak Apunba Nupi Lup has strongly condemned the firing incident on Nov 19 at the residence of Chirom Saratbabu at Thongju Part-II Maibi Lampak where a little boy was injured.
In a statement, the Lup said that no claim or clarification has been made so far despite repeated appeals.
It warned of launching agitation if the authority concerned fails to book the culprits involved in the incident at the earliest.
TSA condoles
Thadou Students' Association (TSA), Chandel condoled the demise of Lunkhomang alias David Haokip, a prominent Kuki chief of Chandel district.
TSA shared the pain and grief of the bereaved family.
Corrigendum

It is hereby clarified that the Department of Agriculture was erroneously given in the second paragraph of the news item.
It should have been Fisheries Department.
The error is deeply regretted.
ATC&PGF; condemns assault
All Tribal Chiefs and People's Grievances Forum (ATC&PGF), Chandel has strongly condemned the physical assault and harassment of chiefs and Kuki students leader carried out by the 24 Assam Rifles personnel on December 5 at Khudengthabi, our correspondent reports.
ATC&PGF in a statement has also endorsed the proposed 48 hour bandh called by KSO GHqs in all the hill district starting from midnight today.
It further informed that the election of the forum will be deferred till January.
Lottery winner
R Jerome Moyon, s/o R Philip of Heigrutampak Chandel has become the first from the State to win Hyundai's gold coin lottery.
Jerome took part in the lottery with the token received when he bought a car by Hyundai in November this year from Punya Hyundai showroom at Nagaram Laipham Khunou.
Punya Hyundai handed over the gold coin to the lucky winner in a small function held at the showroom today.
