Smart City Asst Prof for better police-public ties

Assistant Professor Dr Sonia Ningthoujam of Imphal College has stressed on the crucial importance of systematic planning for development of Imphal as a Smart city.
She also expressed keen desire to implement the project with utmost sincerity.
Dr Sonia then highlighted improving police-public relationship as a pre-requisite for a Smart city.
She further suggested proper disposal of garbage and waste materials and also keeping all public toilets neat and clean.
Nongthombam Bishwajit of Mantripukhri emphasised that public cooperation would be crucial for developing Imphal as a Smart City.
A healthy culture of cleanliness should be inculcated among the younger generations starting from the grassroots level and all educational institutions should be upgraded to the highest standards with a vision for the future, Bishwajit said.
When all the citizens have imbibed a healthy habit of keeping themselves and their surroundings neat and clean, not only Imphal but the whole Manipur can be made a Smart State.
He further suggested replacement of all polythene containers with containers made of paper and other bio-degradable substances.
At the moment, most of the nullahs are strewn with plastic carry bags.
