Philatelic Exhibition from Dec 10

IMPEX 2015, a State level Philatelic Exhibition, will be organized from Dec 10 to 12 by the Manipur Postal Division at the Centenary Hall of Manipur University, Canchipur.
Vinod Kumar, Director (Posts) Manipur, in a statement informed that IMPLEX 2015 will focus on social issues and wild life protection and awareness among young generation and students from various schools are being invited at the exhibition.
Issues like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women empowerment, Swachh Bharat will be taken care of in the during the three-day exhibition.
Kumar informed that 'My Stamp' facility will be available during the exhibition under which a person can get a stamp with her or his photo which can be given in soft image or can be clicked on the spot.
A number of senior philatelists and students, and postal staff members will be showcasing their stamps on various subjects like flora and fauna, celebrities, heritage buildings, environment, art & culture etc.
Besides these, there will be rare stamps like Braille Stamps, scented stamps with fragrance of rose, jasmine and sandalwood will be unique attractions.
Special Covers signed by late President of India APJ Abdul Kalam, commemorative stamps on Sagol Kangjei, Manipuri horse, Ras Lila, Nupi Lal etc will be also put on display .
Stamp design competition, letter writing competition and quiz competition will also be held on the spot and prizes will be distributed to the winners during the exhibition.
Meanwhile, in order to popularize Manipur Tourism, Kumar also called on Nidhi Mani Tripathi Secretary (Tourism) and discussed about the philatelic exhibition.
He also discussed about the role Meghdoot Postcards can play in attracting tourists to Manipur.
She presented the Director (Posts) with a Sangai memento and a traditional shawl for promoting Manipur tourism through India Post.
The Director has invited all young children to visit the IMPLEX 2015 to gain knowledge.
