Loaded truck set ablaze

A betel leaves loaded turbo mini truck was set on fire at late hours of Sunday night by bandh supporters of KSO, Jiribam and Tamenglong Zone along the NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam) between Lhangnom village and Old Kaiphundai.
It may be mentioned that KSO GHQ imposed a 48 hour bandh in the hill districts of Manipur against the assault of student leader and two village chief by 24 Assam rifles.
As report culled from the spot said that there were 21 baskets of betel leaves (Mittapati) on the said mini truck MN-01G-3267).An estimated cost of Rs.8,40,000 betel leaves was destroyed on the fire.
Meanwhile, J Thangboy Kuki, General Secretary, KSO Jiribam and Tamenglong appealed all the students' organisations in Jiribam and Tamenglong to support them and informed all the vehicle owners and drivers plying along NH-37 to obey and respect the bandh called by KSO.
