Governor, CM, many others extend Christmas greetings

Governor La Ganesan, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Cabinet Ministers, political parties and many other organisations have conveyed their greetings to the people of Manipur, specially the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.
Governor La Ganesan, in his message, prayed for the festival to bring hope and happiness to the State.
"This is a time to be with family and friends, a time for peace and piety," the Governor said and appealed to all to celebrate the festival in its true form and spirit.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also conveyed his greetings.
He said that Christmas is celebrated with great pomp and joy by billions of people all over the world and it is an occasion to spread the message of peace, brotherhood and forgiveness.
"All religions teach us to love one another and shun evil," he maintained and appealed to all to join the world in celebrating Christmas with the hope of strengthening the spirit of humanity and brotherhood.
Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar, on the other hand, said that Christmas is about celebrating peace, love and goodwill towards each others.
"Let happiness, good health, prosperity, development and communal harmony spread to every nook and corner of Manipur with the arrival of Christmas," he prayed.
Textiles, Commerce and Industry & Co-operation Minister Nemcha Kipgen has conveyed warm greetings to the people of Manipur, specially the Christian community on the joyous occasion of Christmas, which falls on December 25.In a statement, Nemcha Kipgen called upon the people to remember the birth of Jesus Christ with the hope that this festival will fill people's lives with love, laughter, joy, hope and a spirit of deep thankfulness.
Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th Satyabrata Singh also greeted the people especially Christians Merry Christmas and wished for peace and harmony among all communities.
Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai also joined in extending his Christmas greetings to the people.
He urged people to follow Jesus Christ's teachings of love, compassion and charity with a firm commitment towards the welfare of the State and the country.
The Minister also wished everyone a prosperous New Year 2023 .
Many other political parties, Assam Rifles and organisations also extended their Christmas greetings to the people and they are Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Manipur People's Democratic Front (MPDF), Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee, Major General Rajan Sharawat, IGAR (S) and all ranks of Assam Rifles, All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), All Manipur Catholic Union (AMCU), Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS), Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA), Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO), All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) and Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) .
