Governor, CM, others extend Christmas, New Year greetings

Governor La Ganesan, chief minister N Biren Singh, ministers as well as religious institutions and civil organisations have extended their heartiest greetings to the people of the state, especially the Christian brethren, on the auspicious occasion of Christmas, 2022.In his message, Governor La Ganesan stated that this is a time to be with family and friends, a time for peace and piety.
"May Christmas bring hope and happiness to our state.
I wish that Christmas be celebrated by all in its true form and spirit," he said.
Similarly, CM N Biren, in his message said: "While celebrating this festival, let us also imbibe and take the message of Christmas by involving oneself in the work of spreading peace and harmony in the state and shun involvement in any manner of evil activity" .
"Once again, I wish the people of Manipur a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year," he added.
MLA and Manipur Industrial Development Corporation limited chairman K Robindro, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee and Manipur Peoples' Democratic Front also extended Christmas greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Christian brethren.
In separate messages, they said that Christmas is that time of the year to be surrounded by delicious foods, presents, friends and family and also to embrace all things merry and bright.
They prayed for a united and peaceful Manipur that foster love, tolerance and brotherhood.
They also wished the festival to bring universal peace and spiritual happiness in the world forever.
Education minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh, health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, All Manipur Arts & Culture Students' Union, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA), National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO), All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation and Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Singpanglup (AIMS) also wished the people on the arrival of Christmas.
Meanwhile, KIM President Ch Ajang Khongsai conveying warm wishes for the New Year-2023, said: "As we will begin a New Year, may the festival bring new hopes and new blessings, and may it lighten our hearts and usher in us new aspirations to collectively fight against all forms of social evils, to honour truth and justice, and to advocate for the common good of all" .
