CPI-M attends tribute event in Bangladesh

Leaders of CPI-M Manipur paid homage to 'comrade' Philem Dhiren, who was the politburo member and Sylhet district committee secretary, in Bangladesh on Wednesday.
A team of CPI-M led by its secretary Kshetrimayum Shanta visited Sylhet district in Bangladesh and paid respect to the departed soul of Dhiren during a function held at Sylhet Zila Parishad auditorium on December 21.Speaking at the function, Shanta recounted that Dhiren was a symbol of peace and integrity of Bangladesh.
He served as the president of Bangladesh Manipuri Yuva Samiti from 1974 till his last breath and worked for the welfare of the society.
He was not only the leader of Manipuri community but also the frontrunner of the workers' community in Bangladesh.
The event was marked by offering of floral tributes to the photo of Dhiren led by Communist Party of Bangladesh (ML) central committee general secretary Dilip Baruah, who is also the former minister of Bangladesh along with others present on the occasion.
