Christmas: IGAR ($) greets, units celebrate

Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat and all ranks of Assam Rifles extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.
Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat hoped that the festival will herald an era of progress and prosperity in the region and promote unity, integrity and peaceful coexistence of the communities in the state.
He also wished that the divine teachings of Lord Jesus inspire us to contribute our very best for the welfare of humanity, society and nation.
Meanwhile, Sajik Tampak Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a security meeting followed by interaction and Pre-Christmas celebration chaired by commander Kakching Sector Assam Rifles at Sajik Tampak in Chandel district on December 22.The meeting was attended by 30 villagers including village chiefs and secretaries of Sajik Tampak, Songkhom, Saheiphai, Lhalpi, Mongjang, Leyjang Khopi, Kanaphai, Twilelon and Hengmol.
Later, the commander visited father of Saint Mary School in Khailet Khullen village and Tuilelon village to celebrate Pre-Christmas celebration.
Few gifts and footballs were presented to local population.
Somsai Battalion also conducted an interaction cum Pre-Christmas celebration with CSOs at Headquarters 10 Sector Assam Rifles in Ukhrul district on Saturday to strengthen the camaraderie and bond between Assam Rifles and CSOs of local communities.
The meeting was attended by seven CSOs of Ukhrul district.
A cake cutting ceremony was also organised as part of celebration for Christmas and New Year.
Meanwhile, Khuga Battalion distributed essential items to the children of Only Grace Orphanage, New Lamka on the occasion of Christmas at Khuga in Churachandpur district on Saturday.
During the event, all ranks of Khuga Battalion interacted with the children and shared their happiness with the vibrant young children of Only Grace Orphanage.
