Committee helps Mao denizens expelled from Kohima

Imphal, December 24 2022:
A team of Peace Committee, Kangleipak led by its president Khumukcham Rajesh donated blankets and other items to five families of Mao community, who were expelled from Phesama village, Nagaland.
The aid materials were handed over to Mao Imphal Market Coordination Committee chairman Besi Pfoze Mao and Mao Union Imphal president Dr Puni Losii at UCM office, here, on Saturday.
Accepting the aid materials, Besi Pfoze recounted how Mao Imphal Market Coordination Committee was formed following the ban of Mao traders in Nagaland and they were provided vending space in Imphal.
It is unfortunate that some Mao families in Kohima district of Nagaland were expelled from there, he said while thanking the Peace Committee, Kangleipak for its assistance.
He also conveyed gratitude to chief minister N Biren for airlifting Mao people, who were left stranded in Dimapur on their way home from different parts of the country for Christmas holiday.
Khumukcham Rajen said that the committee will never compromise on any threat to the boundary of the state and it will always stand for peaceful coexistence of the people of the state.
He also extended greetings for Christmas and New Year's Day to the people of the state.
