Revamp KV Akampat school building: Committee

The Ad hoc Committee of parents/guardians of Kendra Vidyalaya (KV), Akampat has drawn the attention of the government towards the need to repair the school building which is in a dangerous condition.
The Committee also urged for construction a permanent building of the school at the earliest.
Addressing a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, here, on Saturday, Committee convenor Chabungbam Birendra said that KV Akampat, which was established on April 27, 2016, currently has around 445 students enrolled in Classes I-X.The AE of Sub-Division No 3 of PWD Imphal East Division issued a notice stating that as Manipur lies in an earthquake-prone zone, the old school building located at Lamlong is in a dangerous state.
As such, the parents/guardians were informed of the same and a meeting was convened, wherein the Ad hoc Committee was formed.
Birendra continued that the school authority has relayed its concerns over continuing operation of the school from the present location from March 31,2023.This has, in turn, caused concern among the parents and guardians.
Thus, he appealed to the Chief Minister, Education Minister and the DC of Imphal East to take up the requisite steps for repairing the school building before March 31.He further urged for constructing a permanent building of the school at a suitable location in Akampat at the earliest.
