Blood donated for survivors; bodies mourn deaths

The E-Pao Tengbang I-Lup, on Friday, donated blood at JNMS blood bank for the students and teachers who are currently undergoing treatment following the unfortunate school bus accident at Longsai part 3 (Tubung), as and when the need arises.
Meanwhile, people of Longsai village and pastors of different churches of the area congregated at the accident site and organised mass prayer for the speedy recovery of the survivors who are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Imphal.
Many organisations and clubs continue to mourn the demise of nine people including seven students, a teacher and a warden of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School, Top Chingtha Yairipok in the December 21 accident.
All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO); Block Congress Committee (BCC), Kakching; Education Guide Centre (EGC), Thoubal Moijing; Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibu Thougal Kanglup, Top-Chingtha; Yairipok Pharmacy Association; The Immortal Jeep, DI, Diesel Auto, Tata Magic, Taxi Owners Co-operative Society Limited, Yairipok; Mayang Imphal Road Motor Transport Co-operative Society Limited; local clubs of Top-Chingtha namely TYPO, NNYA, LYCY, Top-Chingtha Gram Panchayat, Tulihal Zilla Parishad and Self- Help Groups, in separate releases, mourned the demise of the students, teacher and warden.
While observing silence and praying for the departed souls to rest in peace, they also shared pain and sorrow of the bereaved families and further wished for speedy recovery of the injured victims.
Similarly, Thangmeiband United Club (TUC), while condoling the deceased people in the tragic accident, informed that members of the club are ready for providing blood required by the injured people who are undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

While condoling the victims of the tragic road mishap, Joint Committee on People's Welfare, Yairipok (JCPWY) issued ban on any festivities in Yairipok area until the Shradha of the deceased.
In a release, JCPWY appealed to local clubs and mei-ra paibi groups to support the ban and further informed that December 21 will be observed as 'Black Day of Yairipok' every year.
Women Welfare Organisation, Kangleipak (WWOK) also condoled the demise of students and two staff of the School, prayed for the departed souls to rest in peace and shared the grief of the bereaved families.
A team of Manipuri Chanura Leishem Marup (MACHA LEIMA) led by its president Amusana visited RIMS Hospital and Raj Medicity on Saturday to meet the injured students of the bus accident.
MACHA LEIMA vice president Th Nonibala, general secretary Rani Ningombam and assistant general secretary N Seirowna Chanu were part of the team who handed over blankets to the injured students undergoing treatment at the two hospitals.
The team also wished the injured students a speedy recovery.
