Imphal, March 03 2022:
Decrying the decision of the CEO Manipur to conduct repoll in only 12 polling stations after the party raised demand for fresh elections in nine assembly constituencies, AICC Manipur in charge Bhakta Charan Das has asserted that the EC should conduct repoll in almost all polling stations of the assembly constituencies where UG organisations under SoO pact either intimidated or captured polling booths.
Addressing a press meet at the party office here on Thursday, BC Das reiterated his party's earlier allegations of SoO groups capturing polling booths and threatening electors to vote in favour of BJP candidates in different constituencies under Churachandpur district.
Congress party lodged complaint for conducting repoll in nine assembly constituencies but decision for repoll was taken only in 12 polling stations, he said, while decrying the decision of the CEO Manipur.
He then alleged that BJP is using suppressive means to retain power and said that this is the reason why the saffron party never wants to withdraw AFSPA from the state.
He also claimed that the BJP government is full of masterminds of major drug scams and the party gave ticket to politicians involved in drug cases thereby becoming part of the forces that are trying to destroy the future pillars of the state.
He also accused BJP of remaining silent on the Naga peace talks.
MPCC working president T Mangibabu also alleged that BJP is lying to the people of
the state.
