Imphal, August 06 2026:
The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has opened two helpline numbers; Yarui I: +91-9612744804; Yarui-II: +91-9862144506, for travellers facing any problems along the alternative route within the jurisdiction of Ukhrul and Kamjong including loss of direction, medical emergency, vehicular breakdown, road accidents, food and accommodation etc .
Commuters from different parts of Manipur, the North Eastern States and other parts of the country travelling along the alternative route within the jurisdiction of Ukhrul and Kamjong have been facing added inconveniences on account of the ongoing conflict in the hills of Manipur, said a press release issued by the TNL Working Committee.
The TNL has also accused security forces of moving around randomly in civilian areas apart from subjecting innocent villagers to unnecessary frisking in different parts of Kamjong and Ukhrul districts.
It said that personnel of 11 Assam Rifles conducted frisking of civilian vehicles at Maku village junction today thereby causing a lot of inconveniences to weary travellers along the Imphal-Ukhrul-Kamjong route.
On Wednesday, troops of 40 AR were seen stationed at different locations including Changa Junction, Nungshong Junction and Finch Corner.
Earlier on August 3, AR troops carried out a daylong frisking of commuters at Ningchou village under Kamjong sub-division, the TNL Working Committee said.
It is an irony that the military exercises being undertaken by the Assam Rifles are all in relatively peaceful vicinity, the working committee said before urging the Indian paramilitary forces to withdraw from all such activities which according to them are completely unwarranted, and refrain from such activities in the future.
Vehemently condemning the alleged unnecessary action of the Assam Rifles, the TNL Working Committee has asked the responsible authorities to look into the matter and take corrective measures at the earliest.
"While the Indian security forces roam and bull around innocent civilians in peaceful Naga areas, the migrant Kukis in connivance with their militants and narco-terrorists are waging war against the State and humanity", it added.
