TB patient adoption programme organised

Churachandpur District Health Society - NTEP on Monday organised a TB patient adoption programme at the district TB centre.
DTO in-charge Dr Ngahneikim presented the keynote address which was followed by launching of "Adoption of TB Patient" programme, and nutritional package distribution.
The programme aims to eradicate TB by 2025 .
Churachandpur deputy commissioner Sharat Arroyu distributed the nutritional packages to 6 adopted TB patients.
Hoineineng, a pulmonary TB patient, stated that she had suspected herself of suffering from TB and approached doctors of the district TB centre, who conducted a test on her and confirmed that she was positive for TB.
The patient added that her condition is now improving after taking TB medicines.
She also told the gathering that she is a beneficiary of free diet/nutrition under the Mikshay Mitra scheme.
The district's target adoption of TB patients is 33 with 5 each for all the BJP MLAs, according to sources.
