Dr Ranjan launches India Hypertension Control Initiative

Health & IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh launched "India Hypertension Control Initiative In Manipur" on the occasion of observance of World Heart Day held at Kangmong Langoljam community hall in Konthoujam assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Ranjan said a body is identified whether dead or alive through the heartbeat of the person.
"Our heart can be taken care through regular exercises and by prescribing good food," he said and added that keeping tension and stress away will also help in keeping the heart healthy and strong.
He said that the government has introduced many health schemes at the central and state level.
Health schemes like PMJAY, CMHT and Chief Minister's Haksel for All have been introduced with the objective to avail health benefits to all.
The aim of the government is to make it able to cut the expenditure of the people on health care, said Dr Ranjan.
He also stated that the role of Anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHAs needs to be en couraged.
Anganwadi workers and helpers work at the grassroots level and help to reach out the flagship schemes to the outreached.
They should be facilitated, he maintained.
The minister also informed that for bringing better health care system, we need mainly to focus on the primary level health care service.
The government has chalked up strategies to keep vigil on government projects whether the sanctioned funds are utilised in the right way, he added.
Health Services director Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, health joint directors Dr So-morjit Ningombam and Dr Y Premchandra were functional president and guests of honour respectively.
Officials and staff of health department and NHM, Manipur and others also attended the event.
Later, the minister visited the Free Heart camp organised at the venue as a part of the observance and interacted with the locals.
He also inspected the present condition of Health and Wellness Centre, Kangmong.
