CM interacts with heads of Indian missions

Imphal, October 17 2022:
A team of six Ambassadors/High Commissioners of India called on chief minister N Biren at the latter's Secretariat on Monday and discussed matters relating to tourism, promotion of state's cultural heritage and commercialisation of the local liquor.
The team consisted of ambassadors of India to Indonesia Manoj Kumar Bharti, Tunisia Nguikham Jathom Gangte, Republic of Cote d'Ivoire YK Sailas Thangal, Romania Rahul Shrivastava, and High Commissioner of India to Jamaica R Masashi.
Out of the six Ambassadors/High Commissioners, four are from Manipur.
During their meeting with the chief minister, the visiting team suggested to set up Special Economic Zone for country made liquor of Sekmai with better packaging and brand building.
Scope for training of selected athletes in Jamaica and export of horticulture products were also discussed.
CM and the visiting team also had discussion on promotion of state's cultural heritage in Europe, Africa and other international forum.
Besides, opportunities for employment of skilled manpower in European countries such as Romania were also discussed.
Meanwhile, the Ambassadors agreed to promote the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival using their personal good relations with embassies of foreign countries in India for their participation.
The team of Ambassadors arrived here on Sunday and will interact with officials of different government departments including Textiles, Commerce and Industries, Horticulture and Tourism for export promotion of state's products, services and tourism during their stay.
The team will also have discussion with officials of district administration of Chandel, Bishnupur and Imphal East regarding One District One Product (ODOP) .
They will leave Imphal on October 19 .
