Imphal, February 01 2022: Provision of water to consumers fed by Kangchup supply scheme namely Lamsang, Tera, Sayang, Thiyam Leikaizone, Iroisemba, Uripok, Lamphel, Nagamapal, Paona Bazar, Nepra Menjor zone, Sagolband Salam Leikai, Wahengbam Leikai, Keishampat zone, Babupara, Keishamthong Kabul Khul, Irom Pukhri zone, Haobam Marak zone and Chingtham Leikai zone will be affected due to depletion of raw water in Leimakhong River.

A release issued by PHED W/S maintenance Division number 1 executive engineer informed that the treatment plants at Kangchup are unable to produce the optimum quantity of treated water and the department will be commencing Lean Season Roaster from February 3 .

It also appealed to the consumers to hear the inconveniences until the water level in the water source returns to normal.
