Henbung hybrid power project nearing completion

Imphal, November 23 2022: Henbung Baptist Church, Henbung village in Kangpokpi district celebrated Platinum Jubilee during which Saitu MLA and Henbung village chief Haokholet Kipgen unveiled a monolith, which he and his family donated, to mark the celebration.

In his address, Haokholet told the gathering that the first ever hybrid power project in the state being taken up in Henbung will be completed soon and handed over to the people.

He said that every effort will be made to develop Saitu as one of the most developed constituencies in the state under the initiative of chief minister N Biren Singh.

He further said that the hybrid project in Henbung would be inaugurated by chief minister Biren though the leader of the state could not take part in Wednesday's event due to the ongoing Sangai festival.

While stressing the need for preserving nature, Haokholet Kipgen said the present generation needs to protect the natural resources of Henbung village preserved by forefathers of the village.

He also called upon Henbung villagers and entire people of Saitu to shoulder responsibility, in developing Saitu AC.

The event was also attended by Henbung Baptist Church pastor Rev Letkhongthong Haokip, Manipur Baptist Church former general secretary Rev Dr V Sitlhou, former principal of Evangelical College of Theology Rev Kh Khaizakham, S Chaobung Baptist Church pastor Ashong Lotzem and elders of Henbung village.
