Kakching, January 04 2022:
In protest against non-release of incentives and other entitlements for nearly one year, ASHA workers of Kakching district have launched cease work stir from Monday onwards.
On the first day of the agitation, ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers staged sit-in-protest in front of CMO, Kakching office.
During the protest, ASHA workers put up placards inscribed with wording related to demand for immediate release of incentives and entitlements.
An ASHA worker told media persons on the sidelines of the protest that ASHA workers have been performing health related duties even during the height of COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing vaccination drive by putting their lives at risk but government did not release their meagre incentives and entitlements.
Incentives and entitlements for ASHA workers of other districts have been paid but ASHA workers of Kakching district are yet to get the same since February, 2021, the ASHA worker said and appealed to authority concerned to release incentives, and entitlements immediately.
Later, the protesting ASHA workers submitted a memorandum containing their demands to health services director through the CMO Kakching.
