Thoubal, January 04 2022:
General secretary of Dam Makhong Development Organisation Tulihal (DMDOT), Kh Sabir Ahamed has alleged Tulihal Gram Panchayat Pradhan of misusing fund meant for development of Ward No 7 of the Gram Panchayat (Tulihal Tapokpi).
Speaking to media persons in this regard at the DMDOT office, Sabir Ahamed said that the Pradhan of the Tulihal Gram Panchayat has been allegedly misusing fund for 2019-2020/21 meant for development of Tulihal Toupokpi under MGNREGA, State Finance and 15th Finance Commission.
Despite repeated appeals from local residents and local clubs to take up assigned development programmes, the Pradhan has turned a deaf ear to them and not given any positive response till date, said Sabir while drawing immediate attention of the State Government to intervene.

A sum of Rs 10,38,920 was sanctioned under State Finance and 15th Finance Commission for the construction of a community hall at Tulihal Toupokpi.
However, the construction, except for the digging up some earth at the designated site, has been witnessed so far, he said.
The dug out sites were recently filled by locals as the holes started posing threats to traffic movement, he highlighted.
He also highlighted that fund for road expansion cum singling of Toupokpi Maning Lambi was sanctioned long ago under MGNREGA and the work, except laying of stone at 1/6 portion of the road stretch, has not been completed nor resumed after few photos of the initial work was taken.
Further, funds for plantation of 400 trees at Kabarstan of the locality have also been withdrawn but the plantation was carried out for the name sake only with fewer plants and those plants have all been perished due to lack of proper fencing, he said.
As development and other works of the area, after withdrawal of funds, are at a standstill or completed in questionable ways, it is high time the authorities concerned intervene and take up necessary actions against the 'erring' Pradhan, he appealed.
