KYSO's 61st Biennial Sports Meet underway at Senapati

The Khumai (Tunggam) Youth and Students' Organization (KYSO)'s 61st Biennial Sports Meet with the theme 'Teamwork makes the dream work' and hosted by PCYSO commenced on Monday.
The opening event was attended by additional chief secretary forest and environment relief and disaster management, RD and PR Manipur, MH Khan as the chief guest and divisional forest officer Senapati D John Sha MFS as the guest of honour.
The sports meet held at Paomata centre ground, Senapati district will conclude on January 7.The chief guest in his address said that sports meet is the medium to enable team work, inculcate discipline, integrity and accountability, and to develop personality, good habit and feeling of brotherhood.
Khan advised the gathering to do proper planning for utilization of resources and extend support to the government in any developmental activity in the village, while assuring to provide fund for improvement of approach road from the rural development through the district commissioner.
He also promised to help the village through self help groups in fruit processing, watershed project and scheme under multi-sectoral development programme.
Guest of honour John Sha also spoke on the benefits of sports.
After the inaugural session there was an exhibition match between KYSO executives and DEWAK.
Altogether eight teams are participating in the sports meet in football (men), volleyball (men & women) and basketball (men & women) .
