Imphal, January 04 2022:
Local Clubs, meira paibi groups and 'shinglups' have clarified over an incident that happened on December 31, 2021 night atLangthabal Kunja Awang Leikai.
Speaking during a public meet held at Universal Club, Langthabal Kunja Awang Leikai community hall on Tuesday, Club general secretary L Sufidar recounted that the incident happened after some people from other locality beat up Club's vice president and it had no connection with any election activities.
He mentioned that complaints were filed about the incident to Universal Club and United Peoples Welfare-Association from two sides.
In connection with the complaints, a joint meeting of the two clubs, local meira paibi groups and shinglups was'convened to resolve the issue, but the people who filed the complaint on behalf of intending candidate of NPP in Langthabal assembly constituency K Nabakishore did not show up for the same.
Sunder termed as very unfortunate that amidst the filing of the complaints with regard to the incident to the clubs and before any decision could be taken by the locality, a complaint case was lodged to the police and false report given to media so as to draw political advantage.
Hence, the case must be withdrawn by January 6 and an apology issued, otherwise a resolution will be passed by the locality, he made it clear.
It may be mentioned here that intending candidate from Langthabal AC K Nabakishore had earlier claimed that the workers of Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam threatened to kill him and burn down his house along with trying to kidnap his brother's son.
