Imphal, January 04 2022:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) MLA N Loken has categorically stated that BJP could collude with groups which are currently under the Suspension of Operation pact with the Government to win five seats in the hill districts in the Assembly election which is likely to be held next month.
Speaking to media persons at BT Road today, N Loken continued that BJP will not win even a single seat in Naga dominated Constituencies such as Ukhrul, Senapati and Tamenglong, nor can they interfere in six ACs of Churachandpur.
Questioning the rationale of Letpao Haokip switching allegiance to BJP for contesting at Tengnoupal AC, the MLA said that people are aware of his motive.
Letpao recently joined the BJP from the NPP.
Saying that Ujjwala scheme and health cards are the wild cards BJP has been using in its election campaigns, the Nambol AC MLA contended that all the projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were also initiated during the tenure of former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.

The projects have been inaugurated only at the time of election to woo the voters, N Loken claimed and added that people will not fall for such trickery.
Has BJP delivered its promises of achieving things in five months that Congress could not do so in 15 years and renovate the National National Highway -37 to a level fit for landing airplanes, the MLA asked.
Though instances of economic blockade in hill districts have declined, the same is not true for general strikes as the BJP led Government has been giving empty promises to hill leaders, the MLA claimed and advised BJP to focus on winning at least 15-16 seats.
After Letpao Haokip joined BJP, the saffron party had a strength of 26 MLAs including six from hill districts, he continued and claimed that over 11 BJP MLAs from valley will not return to power after the 2022 Assembly election.
BJP has not more than nine MLAs who have the prospect of winning, N Loken maintained and dared the saffron party to pinpoint 20 ACs where they can win.
Maintaining that Congress won 28 seats in the 2017 election, N Loken said that the grand old party managed to secure eight seats in hill districts too.
Saying that the prospect of Congress in hill districts is improving, N Loken claimed that the party workers are working hard for the grand old party to return to power.
He also said that the Congress never said that the party will win only 15 seats.
It was a misquote, he added.
