Blessing ceremony of Y Nilachandra held

Blessing ceremony of Yengkhom Nilachandra, who is preparing to contest the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election and vying for INC ticket, was held on Thursday at his Kakching Khullen Laishangbam Pareng residence.
The blessing ceremony was attended by Kakching District Congress Committee president Elangbam Manglem, Block Committee president Kshetrimayum Ibohal, Kakching Municipal Council ex-chairpersons Yengkhom Rajendro and Moirangthem Inakhunbi, ex-councillors M Memcha and M Uma, Representatives of Lois Kakching former secretary Kshetrimayum Ranjan and members of Block Congress Committee Kakching amadi Block Mahila Congress Committee.
Nilachandra is a retired executive engineer of Manipur Police Housing Corporation and he took part in various people oriented works since a long time.
He was president of Representative of Lois (RoL) Kakching and worked day and night for the welfare of the people for more than 20 years.
During the ceremony, Nilachandra said that he joined politics to continue his social and humanitarian service and bring a change in Manipuri society.
The present government seems to lack long vision and only interested in short term measures.
Human resource development is important for bringing change in a society but the present government completely neglects this sector, he said and also stressed the need for formulating a special policy for farmers to increase food production and upgrade status of farmers.
