Imphal, September 21 2026: State Congress Legislative Party leader Keisham Meghachandra Singh met with Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today.

During the meeting, sources said, Meghachandra briefed the Congress leader on the continuing crises in Manipur, including the situation between the Naga and Kuki communities and the conflict involving the Kuki and Meitei communities.

The two discussed the prevailing situation in Manipur and stressed the urgent need for restoring peace, normalcy and stability.

The meeting emphasised the need for sustained dialogue, confidence-building measures, rehabilitation of affected people and a clear and inclusive roadmap towards lasting peace and normalcy in Manipur.

Meghachandra, sources said, expressed concern about the lack of a comprehensive roadmap for achieving lasting peace and normalcy in Manipur.

He also raised concerns over the continuing tensions between the Kuki and Naga communities and the difficulties being faced by people of all communities.

Meghachandra further stressed the need for the State Government to take more effective and concrete measures to restore normalcy and rebuild trust among the conflicting communities.

He also expressed concern over the impact of the prolonged crises on development programmes, governance, infrastructure and the overall economy of the State.
