Imphal, November 06 2026:
The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) is holding a mega conference at Delhi under the theme "Live and Let Live: A Roadmap to Peace--Towards Resolving Transborder Ethnic Conflicts and Humanitarian Crises in Manipur" .
A statement issued by the MNYO pointed out that the ethnic and communal unrest in Manipur have been continuing unabated since May 2023, inflicting immense human suffering, displacement, insecurity and uncertainty upon the people apart from creating grave economic concerns.
In view of this prolonged crisis, MNYO has resolved to raise these issues at the National capital to draw the attention of National policymakers through massive participation of intellectuals, academicians, civil society leaders, and representatives of different communities of Manipur, it said.
The conference seeks to provide a common platform to meticulously work out and explore pathways and a conducive environment for sustainable coexistence, MNYO said.
The organisation has appealed to all peace-loving individuals, organisations, well-wishers, and stakeholders to extend their fullest possible cooperation and support towards ensuring a grand success of the event.
Expressing deep pain and distress over the continuing trend of fratricidal killings among Naga brethrens, the MNYO has asserted that the Nagas, instead of engaging in internecine conflicts, must unite to safeguard their people, ancestral land, and collective future against external threats and forces inimical to Naga interests.
The organisation has urged all Naga armed groups to exercise utmost restraint, shun fratricidal violence, and refrain from any form of association or collaboration with elements perceived to be inimical to Naga interests including certain armed security forces, where such engagement risks deepening internal divisions and undermining the long standing collective interests of the Naga people.
Saying that a considerable number of eligible and genuine voters in certain Naga districts have been left out of the electoral rolls, allegedly through deliberate or improper exclusion, the MNYO has urged the concerned electoral authorities and officials to take immediate cognizance of the matter, conduct a thorough examination of the complaints, and ensure that all eligible voters are duly included in the final publication of the electoral rolls.
