Imphal, November 06 2026:
The Government should look after the suffering Nagas without discrimination of community, said Save Indigenous People of Manipur (SIPOM) convenor Mayanglambam Bobby Meitei.
Speaking at a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, Bobby said many people have been displaced and are living in relief camps since the Meitei-Kuki conflict from May 3, 2023, and the Government has taken many initiatives.
However, many people have also been displaced in the Naga-Kuki conflict.
He said 6 Nagas were killed and their dead bodies have not been handed over till today.
He urged the Government to think beyond just watching and to act on what needs to be done.
He said more than 800 people from Konsakhul have been displaced.
Due to the ongoing incident, nearly 2,000 people from some villages in Konsakhul have fled and are staying at Senapati.
It has been 28 days since the firing at Enou near Kamjong.
In that incident, 33 people were displaced and are now taking shelter at a place near Mantripukhri, while some others have also been displaced in Ukhrul.
Altogether, nearly 3,000 Nagas have been displaced and are living away from their homes, he said.
He said except for the relief camp opened at Makhan, there is no other camp from the Government side.
If they are not looked after, Nagas along with CSOs and public in the valley will launch a strong agitation, he warned.
