Imphal, September 18 2026:
Former Chief Minister and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Okram Ibobi has asserted that it is the BJP Government which has been keeping Manipur on fire for over three years.
Ibobi was speaking at a felicitation function held at Congress Bhavan, BT Road on Thursday in honour of some intending candidates who have joined Congress.
The former Chief Minister asserted that Manipur has been witnessing total chaos and anarchy since the BJP-led NDA Government was installed in the State.
There was peace in both the hills and plains of Manipur when the Congress party was in power.

After the BJP came to power, widespread violence broke out between the Kukis and Meiteis.
Now, a violent conflict has been raging between the Kukis and Nagas.
People are being killed and houses are being burnt every second or third day, he remarked.
It was the BJP Government which polarised the communities and ignited devastating communal violence in the State, Ibobi asserted.
He went on to ask if the Government of India is planning to fragment Manipur by igniting large scale violence among the communities.
No tangible measure to bring the prolonged violence to an end can be seen till date nor has the BJP Government invested any sincere effort to resolve the crisis, Ibobi remarked.
He asserted that the time to teach BJP a befitting lesson is not far away.
Together with large numbers of their supporters and workers, Oinam Nabakishore, retired Chief Secretary and former candidate in Bishnupur AC; Lourembam Sanjoy, former candidate in Andro AC; Lairenjam Maipak from Langthabal AC, retired SE, RED; Chongtham Sanjoy from Wangjing-Tentha AC and Dr Md Riyajuddin from Lilong AC, retired SE, Power Department have joined the party.
They were accorded a warm reception at the Congress Bhavan.
MLAs K Ranjit, Th Lokeshwor, AICC CWC member Gaikhangam, among others were also present at the reception.
