Imphal, July 19 2022:
The All Zeliangrong Organisation, Manipur Valley (AZOMV) has urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh and others concerned to hand over the construction works of a museum dedicated to freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu at Nungkao Village, Tamenglong to a National level company which can ensure quality control in executing the project.
Briefing media persons at Namdunlong today, organisation president Meibon Phaomei further urged all organisations and individuals to not cause any hindrance in implementing the project (construction of Rani Gaidinliu museum) .
Stating that the Cabinet had already resolved to begin the construction of the museum whose foundation stone was laid by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on November 22, 2021, Meibon Phaomei stressed on the need to maintain quality in executing the museum so as to maintain the history of Rani Gaidinliu properly and make the younger generations learn about the life story of the freedom fighter.
Saying that many projects implemented by local contractors or local construction companies have inferior quality, Meibon Phaomei urged the State Government to hand over the project to a National level company so as to complete the construction on time without any compromise in the quality.
The AZOMV further urged all associations in both hill and valley districts to cooperate in the project and refrain from causing any trouble.
It may be mentioned that the museum was earlier planned to be constructed at Senapati district but shifted later to her native village at Nungkao as demanded by a section of people.
