10-member RMXMMA team set to participate Warriors Dream Series-1

A 10-member RMX MM A team coached by noted MMA fighter Roshan Mainam, are set to participate in the Warriors Dream Series-1 due to be held at Pune's Satav Patil Sports Complex on July 23 .
The team featuring amateur MMA fighters groomed by Roshan Mainam will be leaving Manipur for the venue on July 21 .
Addressing media persons regarding this in a press conference convened this afternoon at the Mixed Martial Art and Fitness Centre, Khuyathong, Roshan Mainam noted the growing popularity of MMA in the country and maintained that Manipur has been able to keep up the pace as it has always been when it comes to sport.
He also maintained that Korouhanba Urungpurel (10), son of Napolean of Sagolband Tera Amudon Akham Leikai is the youngest among his picks for the one day showdown.
It will be an introductory event for all the young athletes who have been training under him, said Roshan who also added exposure at such an event will help the athletes in the long run.
Besides this, Warriors Dream Series-1 will serve as an important event and a platform for MMA athletes in the wake of the upcoming major MMA events like Asian Championship and Youth MMA event to be held in the US.
Taking notes of the achievements of the State players in the field of MMA, the former One-Championship fighter said that all the players in the team are promising and exuded confidence that they will perform well at the Pune event and bring laurels to the State.
The other 9 players in the team are Stallone Soibam, son of Santa of Thoubal Mela Ground; Phijam Amaijit, son of Brojendro of Awang Potshangbam Khullen; Alex .Sapam, son of Koireng of Lilong Chajing; Moirangthem Jenith, son of M Jayenta of Changangei Awang Leikai; K Kanglanganba Sharma, son of K Pishak of Sagolband Amudon Akham Leikai; Yaiphaba Laishram, son of L Tomba of Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai; Jetli Sinam, son of Basanta of Langdum; Wahengbam Raju, son of Tomba of Laikhong Monthou and Thoudam Luhenba, son of (late) Nilakanta of Yairipok Yambem Leikai.
