Aid provided to snake bite victims

Imphal, July 19 2022:
Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) extended lifesaving medical assistance to a snake bite victim of Nalon village, Churachandpur district on Monday.
A release by PRO IGAR (S) said that a 50-year old person of Nalon village was bitten by a snake on July 18 around 10 PM and had swollen his leg.
The individual was rushed to Assam Rifles Medical Centre at Kangvai by villagers and was rendered life-saving medical care to stabilise his condition.
The release also informed that Khuga Battalion extended life-saving medical assistance to a snake bite victim of Songdoh Jaupi camp, Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
It said that a 25-year old boy was bitten by a venomous snake and had pain and dizziness after being bitten.
He was brought by his co-workers to the Assam Rifles medical aid post at Singhat where he was rendered first aid medical care and anti-venom by medical officer, thereby stabilising his condition.
The patient was kept under observation at MI Room, Singhat and discharged once his condition was out of danger.
He was then referred to nearest district hospital, the PRO added.
