CRU submits memo to Union minister

Imphal, July 19 2022:
Reacting against illegal mass retrenchment by pharmaceutical companies and demanding stoppage of all forms of victimisation of sales employees, Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives' Union (Northeast region) has submitted a memorandum to Union labour minister Bhupendra Yadav through the office of labour commissioner (Manipur) .
The memorandum was submitted as part of Anti Victimisation Day observance of the Federation of Medical Representative Association of India (FMRAI) by Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives' Union-Northeast region (CRU), which is the state's body for medical representatives.
A delegation of CRU visited the labour commissioner's office at Lamphel on Tuesday and submitted the memorandum to labour inspector Salam Subol.
The delegation also comprised CITU Manipur secretary Ksh Shanta, CRU-Imphal secretary Thokchom Langamba Meetei, treasurer N Surjit and publicity secretary RK Jimmy.
Apart from demanding immediate stoppage of illegal mass retrenchment by harmaceutical companies and all forms of victimisation of sales employees, the memorandum demand punishment of employers who violate Sales Promotion Employees (Condition of Service) Act, 1976 and provisions of labour
laws.
It also demanded discussion of plights of sales promotion employees by convening Industrial Tripartite Committee meet from time to time and framing of statutory working rule for sales promotion employees as discussed during the Industrial Tripartite Committee meet held on August 8, 2017 .
