Imphal, September 13 2026: Tamei AC MLA Awangbow Newmai has condemned the "senseless' killing of innocent civilians by unknown militants at Tolen Village in Tamenglong district today.

In a statement, the MLA said that targeting unarmed men, women and children is a cowardly act that has no place in any civilised society.

Every citizen has the right to live without fear and such violence attacks the very foundation of democracy.

He urged every citizen irrespective of communities to shun violence and join hands in the process of bringing peace and harmony in these hard times.

He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
