UKLF refutes kidnapping allegation

Strongly reacting to a press release of PRO, Manipur Police department published in Hueiyen Lanpao Daily on 30 June last which claimed that UKLF had kidnapped a man named Md.Najimuddin Shah s/o of Md Samsur of Kwakta Khuman Santhong before abandoning him at Serou Bazar, UKLF on Tuesday clarified that it is not indulging in any kind of activity which is against the ground rule of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) Agreement.

of UKLF said that the UKLF, being a party to the Suspension of Operation agreement with the government, is not indulging in any kind of activity which is against the ground rule of
the Agreement.
The said person (Md.Najimuddin Shah) needs to clarify the matter within two days whether he had been actually kidnapped by UKLF or other armed groups, the press release said, while warning that failure to do so will invite to harsh punishment as the person is tarnishing the good image of the organization.
If he can come out with proper and valid clarification, the organization will be able to find out the culprit and award befitting punishment, it further stated, and added that UKLF will not tolerate any kind of anti-social activity in its operation area.
On the other hand, the police also should not simply believe whatever the person in question stated without proper verification, it further said and and questioned even if the UKLF want to indulge in kidnapping, why should it target such a mere labourer who is of no use.
