TSA threatens 72 hours State bandh

Thadou Students' Association (TSA) has warned of imposing a 72-hour State bandh with effect from midnight of July 6 if the government does not terminate Chaoba Lokho, CO of 7th IRB, who reportedly hit an Alto car by his vehicle along Khonghampat-Koirengei road that left six persons injured on June 16 last but left without paying any heed.
Announcing this during a press meet at Manipur Press Club here, James Haokip, general secretary of the apex body of the Thadou students, said that a memorandum was already submitted to Deputy Chief Minister urging him to initiate necessary action against the erring CO but no substantial step has been taken up so far.
James also informed that a meeting was convened by IO of the case at Sekmai Police Station on June 19 to bring an amicable solution but the CO failed to turn up.
Stating that all the six injured persons including a three years old child are from a same family, he appealed to the concerned clubs and civil society organizations for extending support to the proposed bandh.
