Imphal, July 02 2014:
The impasse over the demand for replacing 10 Ministers from Council of Ministers raised by some disgruntled Congress MLAs has now reached ear of the Congress high command.
Sources said a copy of the memorandum signed by 27 Congress MLAs and submitted to the Chief Minister to press the demand for replacing 10 Ministers within a stipulated time has been handed over to Luizinho Faleiro, North East in-charge of INC by three Congress MLAs, who are currently camping in Delhi on July 1 .
During their interaction, Faleiro assured the three MLAs that the matter will be conveyed to Sonia Gandhi, President of AICC and discussed it thoroughly with her to see what could be done.
The three MLAs who are presently camping at Delhi are Y Surchandra, MLA of Kakching A/C; Manga Vaiphei, MLA of Henglep A/C and Md Fazlur Rahim, MLA of Wabgai A/C. On the other hand, some Ministers presently serving in the government have expressed their discontentment over the demand raised by the MLAs, saying reshuffling of the Ministry should be effected only after the Chief Minister takes a firm decision on the matter and not under pressures from the MLAs.
They also raised questions on what ground they are going to be replaced by others.
Notably, both the CM and Deputy CM are also presently in Delhi.
Though they are on official visit, the two leaders are expected to execute some outstanding works of the party during their stay.
Both the leaders are also expected to meet Sonia Gandhi, Faleiro and General Secretary of AICC on July 2 evening or on July 3, the sources added.
