Clerical negligence puts student in quandary

The career of a girl student who has been selected for admission to BSc first semester in DM College of Sciences is now uncertain owing to negligence by the staff of the administrative block of the said college.
In this connection, AMSU has expressed their concern for the career of the student.
Drawing the attention of the concerned authority, secretary general of the All Manipur Students' Union, Laishram Regan has on Wednesday briefed the media persons at its head office that T Ranibala Devi, daughter of Taiyenjam Rajen of Thoubal Leishangthem has been selected for admission to BSc first semister under general category in DM College of Sciences.
He further continued that necessary admission procedure at the bank was done on June 23 last and the bank reciept was submitted on the same day at 3:30 pm along with the two bank reciepts of her freinds and the clerk informed them to collect admission reciept on the next day.
The admission reciepts of her two friends have been found, but the admission reciept of Ranibala was not find.
The staff asked her to provide her roll number and name for a thorough check and she did the needful.
In order to settle to issue, a visit was made on June 30 and this time again, the admission reciept was not found following which she was again asked to provide her phone numberfor communication, and the clerk had made a phone call in the evening at 6 pm informing her that her admission reciept may be lying somewhere in the room, Regan narrated.
In the mean time, the same clerk had informed on July 1 at 4.10 pm informing Rani-bala that she did not do necessary admission and rebuked her for wasting his time.
In this connection, Regan maintained that the career of the girl student should not be affected by the mistakes of the administrative block charging that it is an act of conspiracy and further demanded to make clarification from the concerned authority failing which necessary steps will be followed from their side.
Furthermore, the AMSU leader asserted that the colleges of Manipur would not be to admit all the class XII passed out students due to lack of seat capacity in the respective colleges which compels students to go outside the State for further studies.
In this matter, he urged the Education Minister to make necessary arrangement and infrastructure so as to accomodate more students in the colleges of the State.
He also mentioned that the Govt is proposing to upgrade DM college of Sciences to University and at the same time, the same college is facing the problem of seat constraints.
