Moreh, July 02 2014:
The 48 hours bandh called by the JAC along the NH-102 has been suspended in the morning of July 1 .
The bandh, which was called to protest the killing of Heiluishei Khaling (56) of Nungourok village, affected normal life with bandh enforcers blocking the road with boulders at different areas in Chandel district.
Speaking to reporters this evening, JAC President Holkhokai Haokip said that the bandh was called as the State Government had failed to investigate the murder case of Heiluishei Khaling and bring an amicable solution.
However, the JAC has decided to suspend the bandh considering the inconvenience of the people.
Angdun Maring, secretary, JAC, said that despite several appeals to CM and Dy CM, the State Government has refused to respond.
Understanding the pain being endured by family members, Heiluishei's body was claimed today to perform last rites.
