Fogging begins in Moreh town

In a bid to cull the spread of dengue and other mosquito-bome diseases, a team of District Malaria Department, Tengnoupal have started intensified fogging beginning today across Moreh town under the supervision of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) .
In this connection, Dr Manibhushah Yaikhom, DMO Tengnoupal said that in the past one or two months 37 persons had been infected with dengue.
But with the intervention of NVBDCP and their preventive measures including fogging, the incidence of dengue has gone down considerably, he said.
Saying that the last dengue case was detected on July 16, he urged the people of Moreh to still be cautious despite the dwindling number of cases.
He also recommended people to sleep with mosquito nets and advised them to get rid of stagnant water in their surroundings.
The DMO further called for people's support in future undertakings of the department and suggested people to get tested promptly if they show any suspicious symptoms.
