Imphal, December 15 2021:
Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai has accused BJP of turning the governments Go to Village (GTV) mission into election campaign of the party.
Inaugurating a community hall constructed under MLA local area development fund at Khamnam Bazar Soyam Leirak in Patsoi assembly constituency on Wednesday, Mirabai said that Go to Village is an eye-catching programme of the government when one considers its name.
However, the objective of the programme has become questionable as it is being organised under the flag of BJP.
It is nothing but a poll campaign for BJP by using government machineries.
The ruling party is using the platform to carry out poll campaign and it is in violation of the constitution and misleading the public, she said and urged the government not to use party flag in government programmes.
She further said that the CMHT scheme is on the verge of failure as the government has failed to pay the pending bills to the empanelled hospitals.
The government has also failed to release old age pension to the beneficiaries regularly.
In the name of providing free LPG connection, the government is charging Rs 1130 per LPG refill when the same cost Rs 600 only during the UPA era.
Prices of diesel, petrol and essential commodities have also skyrocketed and the BJP government is robbing the poor public in broad daylight.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi set a target of providing household tap water connection to the entire state by 2022 but the claims of making good progress in this regard made by the state government is highly questionable.
Congress government had chalked out programmes for water supply programmes with funding from New Development Bank (NDB) but the BJP government has not been able to implement the project effectively in the last five years, she alleged.
Construction of overhead tanks at San-gaiprou, Langjing Achouba, Ghari and Changangei Uchekon in Patsoi assembly constituency are not progressing and the government has failed to look into the matter, she added.
Later, the MLA opened 19/11-B Soyam Leirak polling-station and also honoured two women players who have won several medals in national level championships by presenting cash and gifts.
Soyam Leirak community hall construction committee president P Angouchand, Changangei ZP member S Marjit and Langjing ZP member M Romen attended the programme as the presidium members.
