Covid: State adds 20 cases, 1 death

Imphal, December 15 2021:
The State registered 20 fresh Covid cases and one death in the last 24 hours.
With this figure, the cumulative cases of COVID-19 has increased to 1,25,569 while the death toll has mounted to 1993 .
The deceased had comorbidities and was not vaccinated against COVID-19 .
As 2,003 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the daily test positivity rate updated on Wednesday by COVID-19 Common Control Room is 1 percent.
Among the districts, Bishnupur recorded the highest positivity rate with 2.3 percent as 3 out of 130 samples from the district returned positive.
The fresh Covid cases were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (16) and they are residents of Imphal East (6), Imphal West (9), BIshnupur (3), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
As at least 22 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (9), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (3) today, the number of recovered cases has climbed to 1,23,263 while the active cases declined to 313 including three CAPF personnel.
The recovery rate is 98.16 percent.
Yesterday, the State distributed 609 D-type and 186 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health care facilities and administered 4771 doses of Covid vaccine.
Till December 14, 66.33 percent of the State 's eligible population have taken the first Covid vaccine while another 47.86 percent have been fully vaccinated.
