EDA celebrates Advent Christmas, elects new office bearers

Eimi doctors under the aegis of Eimi Doctors' Association (EDA) celebrated Advent Christmas during its annual get-together at Dynasty Ball Room, the Classic Grande, Chingmeirong Imphal.
The event was attended by Prof Dr L Fimate, retired Director RIMS; Dr Valkung Valte, HOD Pharmacology, JNIMS; Dr Jamthianlal Valte, president Churachandpur Doctors' Association; and Dr Chinkholal Thangsing, founder director Touch and Hope Foundation as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Paokai Kipgen, president Eimi Doctors' Association stated that EDA is an autonomous and non-political body formed by Eimi Doctors worldwide for the welfare of its members with three aims and objectives.
"To build closer relationships amongst the Eimi doctors, to help sharpen academic knowledge and skills of Eimi doctors through scientific sessions and to serve the Eimi people through various health activities are the three main aims and objectives of EDA", he asserted.
Dr Paokai Kipgen also thanked all the Eimi doctors who have been supporting the efforts of EDA and urged them to continue supporting EDA to fulfill its aims and objectives.

Prof Dr L Fimate motivated the budding doctors to prioritize getting enrolled in various departments in medical colleges and to uphold Medical ethics while discharging duties.
Dr Jamthianlal Valte highlighted the need for associations like Churachandpur Doctors' Association (CDA) and Eimi Doctors' Association to work together to ensure necessary basic health care services are delivered to the poor and needy citizens of remote areas.
While stressing on the need to remain updated throughout the professional life, Prof Dr Varkung Valte advised the budding doctors to avoid passing unnecessary information to the patient's party to prevent unwanted attacks on doctors from hostile patient parties.
Rev Dr Letkhothang Haokip, principal Manipur Theological College, Kangpokpi while delivering the Christmas message advised the participants to celebrate Christmas with God's love and peace and accept God's salvation and acknowledge his presence.
During the CME Session, Dr Chongboi Doungel, MDS delivered a lecture on "Orthodontic management of Skeletal Class III Malocclusion: A Case report." Meanwhile, several Eimi Doctors including Dr V Haokip, CMO Health Section, Tribal Affairs and Hills; Dr Pauzachiin Guite, Director, Family Welfare; Dr Lalthari Hmar, Additional Director, DHS; Dr Rita Gangte, Joint Director, DHS; and Dr Thangkhojam Kom, Assistant Professor, Obs & Gynae, RIMS were acknowledged in recognition of their recent achievements.
Newly passed out Eimi Post Graduate trainees were also facilitated during the event, which also marked the adoption of its new logo, new Memorandum of Association with the motion moved by Dr V Haokip, advisor EDA.
New executive members for the term 2022-2024 were also elected during the event.
The newly elected office bearers included Dr V Haokip as Returning Officer and Dr J Touthang as Presiding Officer.
Dr Thangtinlal Lhoujem (president), Dr T Letkhohao Haokip (general secretary) and Dr Chongboi Doungel (finance secretary) along with nine other office bearers were also elected.
