ZUF decries attack by NSCN-IM militants

While conveying its Christmas and New Year wishes, Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) expressed resentment over the incident at Karuluang, Assam.
In a press release, ZUF said that it is resented by "the offensive military operation in public places at Karuluang (Chamtila), "Assam, wherein NSCN-IM militants" created public unrest and disturbances, resulting in public casualty.
"The incident was provocative, prompting public riot and mob movement.
Therefore, the military group is cautioned to exercise civic and decent bearing and refrain from creating public unrest and insecurity.
The Karuluang (Chamtila) area public and women protesting against the perpetrators of firing in open space at Karuluang (Chamtila) village is a rightful step to demonstrate civil rights against all forms of human rights violations.
The act of women stepping out and holding such a public protest rally is laudable and appreciated," the front said.
It demanded that "all form of public disturbances and collection of tax along NH-37 and in all Zeliangrong inhabited areas should be stopped," adding, "All concerned are informed to refrain from all illegal activities and disturbances and create a conducive season during the upcoming Christmas, and New Year festivals.
Non-compliance of this notification shall be strictly dealt without further information or excuse".
The Front also extended its "heart-warming home coming welcome to Tichuilung Gonmei, Razou-peyu, Zeilad Region of NSCN-IM and Sgt Major Johnson Gonmei of NNC to the fold of Zeliangrong United Front".
It also claimed that "many more are also signalling to join and support the Front to be ultimate pragmatic approach as the rest of the Nagas are also asserting their own position and status in the purview of the Nagas' peace talk with the Government of India" .
"The Front since its inception has been anticipating the support and cooperation of the people and the growth is fast gaining momentum to prove that the movement is people-based" .
