Imphal, December 15 2021:
The Apunba Ireipak ki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) has directed all the colleges which had allegedly collected huge amounts of money from their teachers on ground that the college will become a full fledged college to return the amount soon.
Shaikhom Premchand, president AIMS said this at a press conference held at the AIMS head office at Kwakeithel and added that the State Government has been providing financial aid to such colleges to enable them to compete better.
However, the governing bodies of such colleges had been reportedly collecting huge amounts ranging from Rs 15,00,000 to 20,00,000 from teachers by giving false assurance that the colleges will be upgraded.
Such governing bodies had also been making appointments of staff against the existing rules, he alleged.
Premchand added that there is also ample evidence including call recordings from members of governing bodies asking for bribes.
He also alleged that the governing bodies had been sidelining old teachers to give way to new teachers/candidates who can offer more money to them.
AIMS has and will give all required evidence of corruption being committed by the governing bodies, he added.
Regarding the recruitment or for making such colleges a full fledged ones, Premchand said the Government has been unable to hold recruitment for regular appointments due to the poor economic standing of the State and the code of conduct for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election around the corner.
As such all such recruitments and promises of regular jobs are nothing but false promises and scams, he added.
