Pharmacy damaged in IED blast

Imphal, December 15 2021:
A powerful IED blast damaged a pharmacy shop and a paan shop located at Khurai Lamlong Chingbam Leikai under Porompat police station.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Police source said that the IED was planted near the shutter of the pharmacy shop owned by one Moirangthem Bobby (40) son of Prafullo of Chingangbam Leikai.
The paan shop, which was also damaged in the blast, belongs to one Wahengbam Leiren (47) wife of late Amar.
Luckily nobody was injured in the blast that took place at around 2.40 am.
Everything inside the pharmacy shop have been burnt to ashes in the incident though fire fighters prevented further damages in the nearby areas.
Properties worth around Rs 80 lakh are estimated to have been lost in the blast and subsequent hre.
According to Bobby, there was no monetary demand made on him and he has no knowledge about the reason for targeting his pharmacy shop.
A case has been registered at Porompat police station in this regard.
