One death, 20 new cases reported

Imphal, December 15 2021:
The state on Wednesday reported one fatality and 20 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 2003 samples tested, registering a daily positivity rate of 1 per cent against 0.94 per cent recorded on Tuesday.
The lone death case reported on Wednesday was an un-vaccinated resident of Imphal West district and with this, the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in the state has reached 1993 .
Meanwhile, the active caseload dropped to 313 out of which 51 (16.29 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Wednesday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 7.So far, the state has recorded 96,169 positive cases and 1619 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 364 new positive cases and 16 fatalities out of which 140 new cases and 8 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 20 new positive cases (16 male & 4 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (16) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (6), Imphal West (9), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
In the last 24 hours, 22 patients were discharged from home isolation, JNIMS (10) and CCCs (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,569 (general population - 1,21,136 and CAPF personnel - 4,433) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,263 (general population - 1,18,838 and CAPF personnel - 4,425) and number of active cases is 313 (general population - 310 and CAPF personnel - 3).The recovery rate is 98.16 per cent.
A total of 609 D-type and 186 B-type have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Moreover, 4771 yaccine doses were administered on Tuesday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 13,05,664 including 9,42,204 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,056), Imphal East (27,887), Thoubal (9485), Churachandpur (10,190), Kangpokpi (2788), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9229), Senapati (2249), Ukhrul (2998), Kakching (6449), Chandel (2361), Noney (1075), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (666), Imphal East (479), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (193), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (115), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,467 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,799 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,64,503 tests per million population against the national average of 4,70,713 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2003 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down
to 8.71 per cent.
