1st State Level Open Chess Tournament begins

Imphal, December 15 2021: The 1st edition of State Level Open Chess Tournament organised by Laishram Herojit and Tompok Memorial Trust in association with Manipur Chess Association, kicked off today at the Social Welfare Club community hall at Kwakeithel Nganappi Thong Mapal.

The inaugural function of the tournament participated by 26 rated players and 24 unrated players was graced by owner of the Sangai Express and organising chairman, Nishikant Singh Sapam as functional president; Heirok AC MLA, Th Radheshyam as the chief guest and Director YAS, T Phulen as guest of honour.

The opening day of the tournament saw 23 players registering full points (1 pt).

The players who have secured full points are Kh Sanjoy, S Premjit, RK Bhogen, Konjengbam Poireikhomba Meitei, Oinam Ningthem, Elangbam Shashikanta, Khoisnam Kinison, Kshetrimayum Aimson, Laishram Denilson, Irom Bit, Pari Meetei Naorem, Leimaram Shyamkishore, Maimom Rana, M Ibotomba, Kasar Ngakuimi, Ronald Soibam, Arambam Binit Singh, Angom Harimohon, M Dorendro, Seram Indrajit, Sorokhaibam Herojit, Waikhom Rajen and Heiningshumbam Kengen Singh.
