Drugs, fake currency notes recovered, seven arrested

Imphal, August 25 2022:
A special combined team of Imphal East district police nabbed three people including a woman and recovered drugs and huge fake currency notes.
The arrested people have been identified as Taslima (25), wife of Md Sabir of Urup Kangthak; Md Bochou (33), son of late Md Ali of Kyamgei Makha Leikai and Umar (24), son of Md Jalal of Keirao.
According to a police source, the combined team which included women police personnel and led by additional SP (Ops) Kh Herojit conducted search operation in Urup Kangthak area from 5.30am on Wednesday upon getting special tip off about the presence of drugs at the house of a woman.
During the search, the team recovered five soap caps containing 60gm of heroin, 3970 pieces of WY tablet, one mobile phone (Redmi), 26 bundles of fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination, 89 number of fake currency notes of Rs 500, 101 uncut fake currency notes of Rs 500 printed on A4 paper using colour printer and several empty plastic vials from Taslima's house.
During questioning, Taslima disclosed that the fake currency notes were printed with the help of Bochou and Umar.
During further search, the special team nabbed Bochou from his residence and recovered 144 number of SP capsules.
Later, the special team rounded up Umar from his residence and recovered one laptop and Epson colour printer from his shop at Keirao Litan Makhong.
All the nabbed people along with the recovered items have been handed over to Porompat PS.
A team of Porompat PS produced the nabbed trio before the court of JMIC Imphal East, which remanded them to police custody till August 31 .
Meanwhile, Kakching district police recovered huge drugs from different parts of the district in the past 24 hours.
In the first recovery, a team of Sugnu PS led by OC inspector B Lunthang Vaiphei recovered 108 soap caps containing 1.429 kg of heroin from a Tata Sumo during frisking and checking at Serou Lamkhai.
The police team also nabbed owner of the drug Letsem Khongsai, 46, son of late Tilkhopao Khongsai of G Gamnom village, Churachandpur and Genkhopao Haokip, 24, son of Seikhojang Haokip of Songpijang village, Churachandpur.
During initial questioning, the duo disclosed that the drug was brought from Myanmar and it was to be transported till Churachandpur.
In the second recovery, a team of Kakching district police nabbed one person from near Kombirei English School, Phundrei Mayai Leikai and recovered 127gm of heroin.
The nabbed person has been identified as B Mustav, 19, son of Md Hakim of Moreh Muslim Nagar Ward No 5 .
In the third recovery, a team of Kakching district police commando led jointly by inspector Md Abbas Khan and SI Th Robindro recovered 10kg of opium from underneath a culvert along Molticham village.
The team also nabbed owner of the drug named Lunreihing Baite, 30, wife of Thangkhogin Baite of Molghat village, Chandel.
Both the recovered opium and the woman have been handed over to Sugnu PS for further necessary action.
