Olympic torch relays held in Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Senapati

Ahead of the 2nd Manipur State Olympic Games 2022, torch relays were held in Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Senapati.
Bishnupur District Olympic Association (BDSA) on Thursday organised a torch relay from Loukoipat to Mini Secretariat complex, Bishnupur.
Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram, officials of BDSA, sports personalities and more than 150 sportspersons of the district participated in the torch rally.
Over 150 sportspersons will represent Bishnupur district in about 34 sports disciplines during the second edition of the five-day sports event.
In Ukhrul, a torch relay was held on Wednesday at the Ukhrul district headquarters to show support for local athletes who will participate in the 2nd Manipur Olympic Games.
The relay was organised by Ukhrul District Olympic Association (UDOA).
Dozens of young participants led by torchbearer Kapingshang Phinao, ran from Ukhrul District Sports Association (UDSA) office, Winotang and wound up at Mini-secretariat, Hamleikhong.
AC to DC, Ukhrul Ziar Rahman lit the Olympic cauldron in the presence of UDOA president Rammayo Chiphang, District Games coordinator L Robert Meitei, ZEO Ukhrul Mahaokei and others inside the mini-secretariat campus.
Chiphang said that around 160 participants will take part in the State Games and urged the young athletes to prepare and strive to bring honour to the district.
Also on Wednesday, Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) carried out a torch rally.
The torch relay was opened by PP Ronald, senior administrative officer PHED.
Imphal at Old DC, Senapati.
Addressing media persons, Joram Koveo Woba, president SDOAM, stated that the event was reportedly organised as per a meeting convention of all district coordinating bodies of the Manipur Olympic Association.
The SDOAM president further said that the event was successfully organised by the association.
The Manipur State Olympic Games 2022 is scheduled to be held from August 26 to 30 under the aegis of the Manipur Olympic Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
